Autodesk Hong Kong BIM Awards 2011 – Make Amazing Happen

“Autodesk HK BIM Awards 2011” awards presentation ceremony was successfully held in Hong Kong on 28th July 2011 at The Mira Hong Kong Hotel.

This is the fifth consecutive year to celebrate the success of the HK BIM experts who are helping to drive transformation of the building and construction industry through innovation with BIM technology. It is delighted to see more stake-holders in the AEC industry adopting BIM technology through their projects to make a greener and more sustainable environment for us and generations to come. This year, we have added a student category, and this is for winners coming from educational industries which is the first time ever for the Autodesk HK BIM Awards.

This year, the six outstanding awarded organizations are (in alphabetical order):

1. AECOM
2. HOK
3. Henderson Land Development Company Limited
4. Hong Kong Housing Authority
5. Mass Transit Railway Corporation Limited
6. Shui On Construction Co. Limited

Also the three students coming from

1. Chu Hai College of Higher Education
2. The University of Hong Kong,
3. Hong Kong Institute of Vocation Education.

This presentation ceremony attracts over 200 attendees from all sectors including Government sector, property developers and AEC industries executives. Moreover, there were more than 12 journalists attending this awards ceremony. After welcome speech by Ms. Wendy Lee, Branch Manager, HK & Macau, Autodesk and Keynote speech by LegCo member (Architectural, Surveying and Planning Functional Constituency) Prof Hon Patrick Lau Sau-shing, SBS, JP and Director of Industry Programs, Center for Integrated Facility Engineering, Stanford University, Dr. Calvin Kam PhD, AIA, PE, LEED AP, the presentation ceremony was formally kicked off.

and HP Hong Kong and supported by 9 professional organizations namely Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, Hong Kong Centre (CIAT), Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council (HKITJC), The American Institute of Architects, Hong Kong Chapter (AIA HK), The Chartered Institute of Building, Hong Kong (CIOB), The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES), The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), The Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM), The Hong Kong Institute of Facility Management (HKIFM) and Autodesk Industry Advisory Board (AIAB).

After the keynote speeches, the 6 awarded organizations and 3 Students shared their use of BIM experience in their projects with the audience. Everyone was leaving with a high BIM momentum.
