Autodesk HK BIM Awards 2010 – “Better By Design”
Autodesk HK BIM Awards celebrates the success of HK BIM experts who are helping to drive transformation of the building and construction industry through innovation with BIM technology. It is delighted to see more stakeholders in the AEC industry have started to use BIM technology for green and sustainable design in building and infrastructure in Hong Kong. It is the first time to have leading contractor as one of the award winners that showcased more in-depth adoption of BIM from design through construction stages. Moreover, one of the winning projects was implemented with Civil 3D and Navisworks which demonstrated “BIM in Civil” is now the direction to go in the AEC industry.
This year, the six outstanding awarded organizations are (in alphabetical order):
Aedas Limited, Gammon Construction Limited, Hong Kong Housing Authority, The Luk Hoi Tong Co., Limited, MTR Corporation Limited, Scott Wilson Limited.
This presentation ceremony attracts over 200 attendees from all sectors including Government sector, property developers and AEC industries executives. Moreover, there were more than 14 journalists attending this awards ceremony. After welcome speech by Ms Wendy Lee, Branch Manager, HK & Macau, Autodesk and Keynote speech by Guest of Honour, Professor Hon Patrick Lau Sau-shing, SBS, JP, LegCo Member of Architectural, Surveying and Planning FC and Mr. Patrick Williams, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, Autodesk, Inc. the presentation ceremony was formally kicked off.
This event is organized by Autodesk, sponsored by Synnex Technology International (HK) Ltd and HP Hong Kong and supported by 6 professional organizations namely The American Institute of Architects Hong Kong Chapter (AIA HK), Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT), The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), The Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), The Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM), Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council (HKITJC).
After the keynote speeches, the 6 awarded organizations shared their use of BIM experience in their projects with the audience. Everyone was leaving with a high BIM momentum.
